I’m excited to share an incredible opportunity to connect with one of our own alumni! Dara Woo, a current software engineer at Lyft and a 2021 UMich Computer Science LSA graduate, is offering virtual mentorship sessions for this semester. This is a great chance to get personalized advice and insights from someone with a wealth of experience across top tech companies.
Introduction
"Hi all! My name is Dara Woo. I am a 2021 UMich Computer Science LSA graduate and a former GEECS e-board member. Currently I am a software engineer at Lyft working on the Airports team, but previously I've worked at Salesforce, Disney, and EA (The Sims). With the new school year underway, I’m interested in offering virtual mentorship on a biweekly basis until the end of the semester. :) I'm happy to talk about all things early career -- internships (including non-summer internships, I did a Fall one), recruiting, different types of companies/roles (PM vs. DS vs. SWE, etc.), uncertainty with CS, working as a SWE, living in NYC, work-life balance, etc.
